Casa vitoriana - Restauro

 Olá meninas, boa noite.

Hoje vou contar-vos a história desta casa.

Hello girls, good night.

Today I will tell you the story of this house.

This house belongs to the same family a few generations ago. Its architectural style has nothing in common with the houses that were built in Portugal, as can be seen from the model it presents.

This house has a Vitorian look because her great grandmother got married, after the 1st Great War, with an Englishman who came to Portugal to study the migratory birds of our country. In one of these explorations, he passed a village in Beira and there she met the little girl Mariquinhas, the daughter of a wealthy farmer. It was love at 1st sight.

Miss Mariquinhas married Mr. Oliver Taylor on the condition that they would not leave the village. Mr. Taylor agreed and decided to build a house in the style of her homeland on one of Miss Mariquinhas' farms. And so, in a village in Beira a Victorian house appeared, to the astonishment of the entire village.

D. Ceuzinha.

The family grew over the years and that's how we got to our Mrs. Ceuzinha.

A Sra.

Mrs.. Ceuzinha is a widow, mother of two boys and a girl. All of them did what thousands of Portuguese did: they took their course and headed for Lisbon and Coimbra, leaving Mrs. Ceuzinha, in the village, with her memories.

Her children are single and her daughter is divorced and has a daughter, a young architecture student. Since she was a little girl, she loves to spend the big holidays with her grandmother "Zinha" - as she affectionately calls her.

For these reasons, Mrs. Ceuzinha decided to make a "revolution" in her house, modernizing many details and adapting it to the present day.

She kept her parents' bedroom furniture and a few more pieces and she decided to change the layout of almost every room in the house.

Fed up with that horrible reddish tone of the furniture, she decided to change the color, but here, she would keep a classic style.

Que fazer? A Sra.

What to do? Mrs. Ceuzinha, despite being seventy years old, remained very active and decided to get to work.

So she went to the village paint shop and chose a slightly grayish blue and got to work. In the end she gave him a golden "patine".

The text is long and you haven't seen any photos yet, but the story of a family cannot be told in two words. I ask for a little more patience as the photos are coming soon.

Começou pelo toucador:

She started with the dressing table:

The dressing table has already been lightly decorated. There are still some details missing but they will come in time. The vanity stool was painted to match, as was the chair. This one still has to be stewed to match the stool:

 Os acessórios de momento:

Current accessories:

The fan in its box - was a gift from Juliana from Forum Casita Mini (thanks, again)

Then she went to the closet. It was painted and lined inside, to give it a more careful look.

The bedside table, with its lined drawers:

For now the room is like this. The details scattered around the room are part of Juliana's gift.

She still has to take care of the bed: sheets. bedspread, pillows, etc.

I hope you enjoyed.
